My daughter is a long time patron and encouraged me to try. It was a little pricey but I was not disappointed and you won’t be either! Kudos on the customer service and the food quality. I’ll definitely be back!🀭😊

I went to Playa Bowls yesterday to try the new Surf Quencher and unfortunately, I was really disappointed with what I saw. I placed my order online, but when I arrived, my drink hadn’t been made yet. The employee asked for my name and then started preparing it. While I was watching, I noticed her filling my drink with water directly from the employee handwashing sink. I asked her, β€œAre you using the handwashing station to make my drink?” because I wanted to make sure I was seeing this correctly. She said yes and told me it was β€œfiltered water.” 😳 Whether the water is filtered or not, my concern is that a handwashing sink should be used for handwashing, not for preparing customers’ food or drinks. What concerned me even more was seeing chemical/cleaning bottles right around that same sink area, as shown in the photo. That made me extremely uncomfortable with the sanitation and food preparation practices at this location. Needless to say, I did not feel comfortable drinking it. I was excited to try the new Surf Quencher, but this experience completely ruined it for me. Management really needs to review proper food safety and sanitation procedures with the staff. Don't order online! The smoothie I ordered was delicious, and I have no complaints about the atmosphere or service. That being said, I am upset with how much I paid for my smoothie. I ordered a 16 Oz smoothie online. Having never been inside the store before, I was unaware that the size I ordered cost 8.99, so didnt know that the $10.49 online price was already an upcharge. From there, they proceeded to add an automatic 20% tip when I clicked confirm order, and then another .50 cents for a convenience fee. My smoothie ended up being $15. I dont understand how in good conscience an establishment can charge a convenience fee, regardless how small, when the price has already been raised by 15% over the in store menu price. It might make some sense if I was ordering on Uber eats or doordash, but this was an order through their direct link on their website. I'd still recommend this place because I enjoyed the smoothie, and it was very pleasant on the inside, but I definitely wont be ordering online again.
